Empty Lot Program
Arden Home Services - Claremont Workforce Housing Program
All people should have a safe, secure place to call home. Today, 550,000 Minnesotans pay more than 30% of their income on housing (also known as “cost-burdened”), which continues to escalate. These families are forced to choose between paying for housing and other necessities such as food, medical care, transportation, and clothing.
There aren’t enough homes Minnesotans can afford, and we are losing affordable homes at an alarming rate. Solutions exist so that every child, every elder, and every person with a disability—has a stable place to come home to.
Arden Home Services - Claremont Workforce Housing Program seeks to provide an affordable solution for nine (9) working families. Families that meet established income limits (less than $129,000 for a family of 3+) can apply to qualify for one of the homes. Families apply to the program and if accepted, must complete 8 hours of homeowner education. Once education is completed, families will be partnered with a counselor to apply for a USDA mortgage.
